The Secret to Life

Books are an impressive art form. They can take you on a journey through a fictional world or on a journey to better yourself. Do you want to live your best life? Do you want all good things to come to you? Do you want to be happier? If the answer to any of the questions is yes, then you need to read The Secret and The Magic by Rhonda Byrne (and The Power too if you want). I picked up The Secret because I heard about it on a podcast, unfortunately I can’t remember which one, and I thought it would help with my mental health and it did, but there’s so much more to it than that. Byrne shows you how to use the Law of Attraction to live your best life. The answer is simple, gratitude!

The Secret (is also a movie if you don’t want to read it) introduces the idea that whatever you put out into the universe, you get in return. If you put anger and resentment out into the universe, you will only get more anger and resentment but if you put love and happiness out into the world, you will get even more love and happiness in return. This book shows you how to use the Secret in every area of your life and help you live your best life.

The Magic is a 28 day exercise that gets you in the habit of practicing gratitude. By practicing gratitude you can improve almost every area of your life including: relationships, health, money, career, material things, and personal desires. This book is built on the law of attraction again, whereby if you put gratitude out into the universe, good things will happen to you in return and your life will magically improve. There are 28 magical practices that you will do over 28 days. Practice being grateful for your friends, family, money, career, health, personal desires, and all aspects of your life and the world. At the end of 28 days, you will feel dramatically happier and your life will be filled with magic.

28 days seems like a big commitment but it’s really not. All it takes is about 20 minutes every morning (yes, it’s best to do this in the morning) to do each magical practice and you will feel amazing by the time you’re done each practice every day. By the end of 28 days you will have a list of 280 things you are grateful for and you will realize you have so much more to be grateful for. In the 28 days that I did this for, my life becameĀ more magical. I had three job interviews, the boy I’ve had a crush on and haven’t talked to in a year texted me, I got accepted to go to Australia on exchange, and the weather outside was amazing. Gratitude and putting good things out into the universe really does go a long way and I can’t help but see how The Magic and the power of gratitude helped make all these good things happen.
